ERSDAC (Earth Remote Sensing Analysis Center) is developing application of Remote Sensing such as natural resource exploration (mineral, geothermal, oil and gas) as well as development and environmental assessment.

The purpose of this study is to summarize some applications of satellite remote sensing data , such as Landsat, Terra/ASTER (Advanced Space-borne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) and Hyperion (Hyper-spectral) data) for oil and gas exploration as well as development and environmental assessment.

Through this study, it becomes clear that Satellite Remote Sensing data is a strong tool to map surface geology, topography and to assume subsurface structure.
