ABSTRACT: Simulation Of The Alto De Ceuta B Inferior Reservoir, Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela

The Alto De Ceuta Field, Block VII, is located in southeastern Lake Maracaibo. A project team consisting of engineers, geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and technicians performed an Integrated Reservoir Characterization of several Eocene and Miocene reservoirs, in this field. This characterization was the topic of a poster presented at the AAPG last year. Since then, recommendations were made for well recompletions and a new well was drilled.

Subsequent to the completion of the reservoir characterization effort, a simulation study of the B Inferior Resrvoir was undertaken. This included a fine layered model of the southern part of the field and a full field model of the entire Alto De Ceuta Block VII area. This poster presents the problems encountered during the simulation and the results of prediction cases.
