ABSTRACT: Crossroads prospect, Railroad Valley, Nevada: a powerful desktop presentation

Simple desktop presentations quickly and clearly show the relationships among diverse surface, subsurface, geophysical and geochemical data sets. Stunted sagebrush called initial attention to the Crossroads prospects. Gravity data indicate east-trending and north-trending horst blocks. Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite imagery reveals the structural highs and boundary faults. Multiple geochemical surveys indicate a variety of anomalies including methane and ethane soil gas. Nearby wells penetrate known source rocks (Mississippian Chainman, and Eocene Sheep Pass formations) and reservoir rocks that include Devonian Guilmette carbonates and Oligocene Garrett Ranch welded ash flow tuffs. The late Tertiary valley fill forms a regional seal.

Simple scanning and overlay techniques clearly show the relationships among the various data sets. This makes presentation of the prospect guide efficient and effective.
