Abstract

Geochemistry of biomarker hydrocarbons is considered in the Riphean and Vendian oils of the Siberian Platform. Specific distribution of monomethylalkanes, ethylcholestanes, triterpanes and an extreme enrichment of oils in 12C carbon isotope have been distinguished in them. Main oil source formations are described. It has been shown that they accumulated in intracratonic basins of above-rift syneclises and in the epicratonic basins of passive and and active continental margins. They were compared to the Precambrian oils of Northern China, Australia, Oman.
