MAHSAS-KHEBIZI, FATMA ZOHRA

Central Ahnet Basin is a major gas producing area in the southwestern Saharan platform. Lower Devonian form important reservoirs along with the Ordovician and Tournaisian sandstones. Not all the Previous HitwellNext Hit drilled in this area proved successful; some of them have tested water or dry.

This presentation deals with the Previous HitsequenceNext Hit Previous HitanalysisNext Hit and its application for a successful Devonian succession. Lower Devonian exploration based mainly on core studies, Previous HitwellNext Hit Previous HitlogNext Hit correlation and system tract Previous HitanalysisNext Hit. The lower Devonian is subdivided into two sequences corresponding to the Gedinnian and Siegenian - Emsian in a ramp basin setting. The first Gedinnian Previous HitsequenceNext Hit is represented by marginal-marine and shelf, and the second Siegenian and Emsian by fluvial, littoral and offshore deposits. In each Previous HitsequenceNext Hit lowstand system tract, transgressive system tract and highstand system tract deposits may be identified with their bounding surfaces. Previous HitSequenceNext Hit stratigraphic Previous HitanalysisNext Hit of Previous HitwellTop logs demonstrated that reservoirs are represented by lowstand, transgressive and highstand system tract succession.

The success in exploration wells may primarily depend upon finding the reservoir developed in the Gedinnian lowstand.
