ABSTRACT: Stratigraphic Correlation Between 34 Water Monitoring Wells in the Huntington Beach, Orange County, California Area
A correlation study between 34 water monitoring wells of the Orange County Water District in the Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, area was undertaken using 19 marker foraminifers. Most of these 19 foraminifers were found in the 34 water wells, and a correlation of stratigraphic horizons and species occurrence was possible using detailed species range charts printed to the same depth scales. Correlation maps and cross sections were constructed showing the various stratigraphic horizons as they occur in the Huntington Beach area aquifers.
