ABSTRACT: Wellsite Geology Going into the 1990's

Hal H. Christie

Wellsite geology is a sometimes overlooked part of the oil and gas exploration industry.

Today the wellsite geologist is faced with challenges to keep current on the recording and monitoring equipment and the use of computers.

Sample examination and the retention methods of samples have changed markedly, and the geologist on-site now has state-of-the-art equipment to increase the accuracy and speed with which data are acquired, recorded, and transmitted.
